Microdosing is taking a very small amount of a substance, so tiny that you barely notice any change in yourself. The point is that a microdose of a powerful drug can be subtle in effects, rather than overwhelming or disorienting.
Can you microdose kratom? Of course.
Theoretically, with microdosing, one gains a greatly reduced set of effects that enables one to pay attention to complex realities and be productive, but with a slight alteration of perception, a gentle glow or radiance surrounding objects, with new ideas unleashed and streaming in more easily.
So, you could microdose kratom simply by taking a greatly reduced amount, perhaps taking the tiny amount more often. If your normal dose schedule is 8 grams once a day, your microdose could start off at ½ gram, wait a few hours, if absolutely nothing happens, try taking another ½ gram. Or reduce your dose to 2 grams, but take it 4 times a day.
Realize that the low/high factor kicks in here. Low doses of kratom tend to energize. So if you lower your kratom amount to a microdose level, you may not get the effects spectrum you get when you take the regular amount.
People will microdose very strong substances, and consequently, the microdose is indeed tiny. For example, microdosing is done with LSD, mescaline, DMT, magic mushrooms, peyote, cocaine, cannabis, and other substances that can be rather potent and mind-bending.
A microdose is generally conceived as 1/10 to 1/20 of a normal dose that people take to have profound experiences, which as mentioned previously, can be too much to handle and still perform work in an office, for example.
When a full dose incapacitates, or at least renders a person in severely less than ideal shape mentally for precision work, microdoses are an alternative some are trying.
It’s doubtful that a seasoned user of kratom is ever overwhelmed or disoriented by kratom, but experimenting with smaller doses, and dosing more frequently during the day, could be a wonderful new experience for you. Lowering your dose will also help you avoid developing a tolerance.
You may have inadvertently microdosed a few times already without knowing it.
Haven’t there been times when you took one teaspoon of kratom, but just could not take the second? You settled for one teaspoon (approx. 4 grams) that day, instead of 2 teaspoons (approx. 8 grams). Did you notice a change, not only in the intensity, but also in the kind of effects that were produced?
Or you took just 4 capsules, instead of 16? Because you ran out of kratom or were in a hurry and could not load any more capsules?
Experimenting with lower (not higher) doses of kratom can be a good idea. The reason you don’t want to fool around with escalating your dose is that you can take too much and get the wobbles…or you will vomit excessive amounts of kratom…and you will develop a tolerance, meaning you’ll have to keep taking the higher dose, which can get expensive.
Now, if you want to go the more traditional microdosing route, you’ll need a scale. To measure 1/10 to 1/20 of your normal kratom dose amount is not going to be possible by eyeballing it. Since kratom is not a super powerful drug in terms of effects, reducing your dose this low may be a waste of time. Not enough of the alkaloids will enter your system to produce any real results.
While microdosing is about lowering your dose so the effects are not noticed by you at the time you are doing it, when looking back, you are able to detect greater endurance, joy, motivation, inspiration, creativity, and satisfaction. It’s in retrospect that you discover how the microdose altered your world in a thin way, just a slight coloration, a gentle humming in the background.
I’m not sure if kratom would work in that way, but it’s very possible.
If you tried microdosing kratom, or simply reducing your dose dramatically, and have an interesting experience you’d like to share, please post a COMMENT below. Thanks!
